Interview with Willy Vlautin, author of Northline

Welcome to episode 20 of the Harper Perennial Podcast, a show about the life of books.

Singer-Songwriter and Author Willy Vlautin returns to the podcast to discuss his new novel, Northline, and its accompanying soundtrack CD.

Northline is the story of Allison Johnson, a troubled young woman struggling to leave an abusive relationship behind as she starts a new life in Reno. Her imaginary conversations with Paul Newman are perhaps her only comfort.

I'm almost finished reading Northline,started it some days past.Saw it in the library sitting on the new shelf ,and this blue and black covered book look like something ,and you know what? it was.I haven't read a novel in many years,I'm in my 30s and once I picked it up,I'm ready to pick it up again, soon after I put it down.Going home tonight and may even finish it ,haven't been much of a reader of books & well for myself ,that's saying alot. Thanks Mr. V. for including truck driver watson.This book shows not only how low down a person can get ,but most of all how great and memorable.I'm thinking about checking out the motel life to.Besides the bible ,I haven't done much reading ,so your books would be some of the 1st and few I've read in my life. Take care out there....
